Our Little Man is Two Months Old

We've been suprisingly busy here. Evan and I have been going to many outings with other mommies and babies. Matt and I were able to take Evan to his two month appointment last friday. Everything looks great. He weighs 11 lbs. and 7 oz. and is 23 1/4 in. in length. He is sleeping much better too. He goes from his last feeding at 10 P.M. till 4 A.M. and then we wake up at 7 A.M.
The best part of these last couple of weeks has been his cooing and laughing. His laugh is still really faint, but it's there. I can't wait to hear it full strength.
Matt and I took Evan to his first Butterflyfest here in Gainesville. There were so many beautiful butterflies. Evan will just have to take our word because he was asleep through the whole thing.
Halloween was so much fun. Grandma(Mima), Mommy(Mami), and Daddy(Papi) took Evan to the Santa Fe Community College's Boo at the Zoo, then we came home to hand out candy. Mark and Wendy brought Aidan to the house too, so that the cousins could spend their first Halloween together. We took a ton of photos of the babies in their Halloween costumes. They were the cutest!

Evan in black & white

Evan and I had a fun tummy time yesterday in his nursery. I took so many pictures of him. Every day I discover a new expression. Here are some of the best photos I took.

Big week

This has been a big week for Evan and I. In the beginning of the week we attended our first postpartum luncheon at the hospital. It was great to meet other mommies and their babies. We enjoyed a speaker and free food! Evan was very well behaved. After the luncheon we met with the lacation consultant. Evan and I did a timed feeding to see how much he is getting in a feeding. At the beginning of the feeding he weighed 10.10 lbs. and at the end of the feeding (seven minutes) he weighed 10.12 lbs. Needless to say, he's getting the nourishment he needs. Evan likes to chug his milk since I produce an over abundance of milk!
Later in the week Evan and I attended our first "Alachua County Moms" function. It was a morning stroller walk at the park. We had a good time and got to meet more mommies and their babies. Evan and I are enjoying doing activities together.
Last week Matthew signed a contract to work with a dentist in a private practice in Gainesville. They are very excited about having Matt on board. He starts full time in November!
Here's the slide show of our week...

The last few weeks

So in the last few weeks we've notice a lot of changes in Evan. First of all, he's losing his beautiful head of hair that he came into the world with. Second, he seems very, very aware and awake. He likes to play with his mommy by trying to catch her kisses with his hands. He is also eating a lot more, which explains why he's grown so much. He now weighs over 9 lbs! We are enjoying all of his changes, but also realize how quickly he changes. We've got to enjoy each moment with him.

Bath time with Daddy

Matt has become a pro at giving Evan a bath. Evan's bath's are nightly now, and he seems to enjoy them. He just hangs out in the hammock, enjoying the warm waters of his tub.

Our first photo session

We have our first photo session with Sheli Derato on September 6th. Evan was just under two weeks old for his newborn photos. Evan was awake for almost the entire shoot, so the sleeping shots were rare.

Evan's first 10 days

I've finally been able to steal away for a couple of minutes to create a new slide show of images from Evan's first week of life at home.
Right now Evan enjoys eating and sleeping. He loves to be cuddled by Daddy to sleep after his night time diaper changes.
Getting used to a baby at home took a bit of adjusting the first couple of days, but we are getting the hang of it.
Enjoy the show...

Welcome to the World little one!

It's official...we are now parents of Evan Joseph Ticola. He arrived on Saturday August 25, 2007 at 11:24 P.M., and he weighed 7.6 lbs. and was 20 1/4 inches long. The birth was a beautiful experience that was shared with by Grandma and Grandpa Gutierrez who watched their first grandchild come into the world.
We are adapting to life with a newborn, but with team work we'll get through it! Matthew and I wanted to thank all of our family and friends for all of your love and support during our pregnancy, and for your overwhelming excitement over our son's birth! We can't wait to make our new memories with Evan.
Check out the web nursery photo from the hospital. Just click the hospital link on the right and scroll down to web nursery to search for Evan.

Gabrielle Elizabeth Koagel's baptism July 7, 2007

Matthew and I are so honored to be Gabrielle's Godparents. We love her so much, and we can't wait to share in her future.

Matthew Gets the Nursery Ready...without too much trouble!

The nursery completion was a goal that we had. We wanted it to be complete by the final day in June, and we did it! Actually, Matt did all the work.
He had fun posing for the pictures. He loves to be a goofball, which I am sure Evan will enjoy. Hope you like the nursery we've created!
