Christmas bargains

We are trying to be very minimal in our Christmas decorating this year since we have the house for sale, and we really should be packing stuff up instead of pulling stuff out to decorate. We've been in need of a new tree for a long time, and we've been using the one that I've had since high school at least. Needless to say, it's looking a bit ragged.
Matt got a deal at Home Depot on this 7 1/2 ft. artifical tree. It's just beautiful, and he got it for 50% off the price! It was meant to be. When Matt returned to Home Depot to get Wendy and Mark one, he was told that they were regular price, so poor Wendy and Mark are still without a tree for Aidan.
These are our stockings which hang near the front door since we don't have a mantle.

Merry Christmas

No fuss!

Dinner time is usually not fun for us. Evan is a very picky eater, but he was actually happy tonight so I thought I'd take some photos of this rare event. We have a standard highchair and this hook-on chair just so we can change it up a bit to see if it encourages him to eat more. We constantly sing to him, and do what we can to keep him in a happy mood. Whenever we sing the theme song from the cartoon show, "The Wonder Pets" he lifts his arms up in the air like he's flying. You'll see in the photos.

Joel's corner

Here's a photo of Joel's little corner. It's all ready for his arrival, including the NB diapers. I forgot just how small they are! I love the colors of the pattern of Joel's pack-n-play. It was a gift from Joel's Pipo and Mima for my baby shower. Thank you!!!!

Ebay find

So here's a photo of the letters that I ordered from Ebay to match Joel's bedding. I ordered them in early September and I just got the proof of the letters for my approval. The artist's name is Britt Corbin. Didn't she do a fantastic job! I can't wait till they arrive.

Our Thanksgiving 2088

We just returned from our annual Thanksgiving trip to Ellijay, Georgia. This was my last trip before Joel's arrival since I am now at week 32, and my OB told me not to travel far after this week.
The weather was just perfect while we were there. Evan enjoyed playing with all of this big cousins, and they loved keeping him in check. He had lots of little caregivers. This past week Evan has started using ASL to sign when he wants something. He now signs "more" and "milk". He also has started saying the words, "light, fish, and car". It seems like each day his learning is more accelerated.
Here's a slide show of photos from Thanksgiving.

Expanding waistline

So there I am...
Many of you have asked to see a photo of me in my pregnancy. I get reactions like, "Wow, when are you due?". It's like people expect me to say, "Today"!

Joel in 4D

On Friday we had our 29 week 4D ultrasound done. Below are the best photos from the ultrasound. Evan loved seeing his baby brother. He just kept pointing and talking to him the whole time.
Today (Sunday) I'm 30 weeks, so I finally forced Matthew to take a pregnancy photo. I'll post that soon.

People often ask why Cubans vote the way they do, and this explains it!

HOW GOD CREATED CUBANS
When God created the world for Humankind to prosper
and multiply, he decided to give each group two
virtues. As an example, HE made Japanese patient
and hardworking, HE made Germans tenacious and
studious, HE made Americans organized and pragmatic,
and so on.
When GOD considered Cubans, He told the record-keeping Angel, 'Cubans are going to be Intelligent, Honest and Democrats.
When GOD finished creating the world, the Angel
noticed that GOD had given every group two virtues
excepting Cubans, who had received three.
The Angel thought that this would give the Cubans an
unfair advantage over the other groups of Human
Beings. He pointed this out to GOD.
GOD said, 'OH, My Goodness, you are certainly right,
but since Virtues given by GOD cannot be changed, we
will do the following: From now on Cubans will keep
three Virtues, however, they can only use two at the
time.
This dictum explains why:
* A Cuban, who is a Democrat and Honest, cannot be Intelligent
* One, who is Intelligent and Democrat, cannot be Honest
* AND ONE, WHO IS INTELLIGENT AND HONEST, CAN NEVER BE A DEMOCRAT !
* This is why most Cubans are REPUBLICANS!!!

Not too frightful

Here's a photo from Boo at the Zoo this year. Evan went as a sweet frankenstein. Just look at that face, who could run from that! This year he was actually awake throughout the entire event, and he didn't seem scared of any of the people who were dressed up. Aidan joined us at the zoo too. It was their second year celebrating Halloween together. Thank you to Mima and Pipo who provided the frankenstein costume, and to Manina and Panino who sent Evan a super sweet spinder treat basket. I've uploaded more of the photos to the Picasa web album (see below).

Christmas is coming

As christmas quickly approaches I went ahead and created a wish list for Evan on Amazon. I added a direct link to Evan's Christmas wish list at the bottom of this blog. You'll see the Amazon icon. Just click it, and it will take you straight there.
